Dear Principals:

Problems with attendance and chronic misbehavior problems with students from troubled families (alcoholism/addiction, domestic violence, criminality)?

Imagine how your school would be if all the chronically misbehaving youth (fights, insolence, absenteeism, cussing, etc.) suddenly changed into well-behaved educationally expectant students.

Now there is a parent training session designed to make that possible.

With this training, we equip troubled families with knowledge and skills to break family-to-family substance abuse cycles and help their children behave and achieve in school.

Skills to:

  • Remove misbehavior baggage from their children; baggage these students often take and release at school.
  • Acting out at school, these misbehaviors upset staff, frightens students, and interrupts teaching.  Some teachers report up to 40% of class time is wasted on misbehavior interruptions, reports, parent meetings, etc.

Process

We ask schools to invite 50 troubled families to a 2 1/2 day skills building workshop.  From this, we educate, motivate and equip troubled families with skills to help their children not do what their parents have done (drugs, domestic violence, criminality).

Outcomes

Following training, you will experience a major decrease in the misbehaviors of the workshop participants' children.  You will also see an increase in their children's attendance and greater involvement of these parents in their child's education and school activities.

To bring this process to your school, ask that this training be placed on your School Board's agenda.
